mystory

My name is Karen Bourdon.  I was born in Winnipeg, and I grew up in a strong Christian family, and attended the German Immanuel Pentecostal Church, along with all of my numerous German relatives. I always knew and loved Jesus for as long as I can remember, but recall making an official commitment of salvation a number of times at a Lundstrum Crusade when I was a young girl and was water baptized at age 12.  Life has been very good, but I have had my fair share of challenges in life, including an abusive marriage, divorce, single parenting, cancer, losing my house to a house fire, and having a son with mental health issues. Without a doubt, God has been my strength.  There is no peace, and no comfort greater than knowing that I am overwhelmingly loved by the God of the universe, who has a good plan for me. God is good!

I have the amazing privilege of being able to run a private practice in counseling at the New Beginnings Church building, providing counseling to families, couples, and individuals of all ages, and for all issues, including relationships, trauma, sexual abuse, childhood issues, grief, depression, anxiety, self-esteem, anger, addictions, separation and divorce, and many more.  I have a Master's Degree in Counselling from Providence College, and worked as a therapist at a women's shelter for 13 years, and have been a counseling therapist for over 21 years. I enjoy the thrill of watching people be set free and blossom into whom they were meant to be.

I provide in-person, phone, or zoom sessions, days and evenings, Monday to Friday.

I can be reached by phone, or by email, or you can check me out on my webpage.
